Darlington Entertainment
We have an abundance of restaurants and bars to spend the evening in:
Quaker House Real Ale Bar
Imperial Express
The Old Yard - This is a great friendly tapas bar, with a rustic feel and a great outdoor area. It’s only two doors down from The Old Tailor Guest House.
The Oven - A very popular restaurant that has even been frequented by Tony Blair and George Bush. There is often an early evening special that definitely makes this restaurant worth a visit!
Everly’s Brasarie - Based in the idillic market town of Yarm, only 8 miles away lies a fantastic restaurant, with freshly sourced food and a different menus depending on the season. Everlie’s offers an early bird special offer (around £16 for 3 courses).
The Heffer - Based in Scorton, around 10 miles from Darlington. This is a great country pub overlooking the village green and cricket pitch where, during the summer, you will find people enjoying a meal out on the green. This is our recommendation for Sunday lunch in the wider Darlington area. You can enjoy Yorkshire puddings in true Yorkshire style!
The Otter and Fish - Based in Hurworth village, this is a pub that has come on leaps and bounds over the years and is now highly recommended and is a place we often eat ourselves.
22's - This is probably one of the liveliest pubs in Darlington. It plays no music but has a great atmosphere, with people talking and catching up with each other. It’s a friendly atmosphere and it offers only specialty beers and local brews. We highly recommend the Raby Castle Ale. At only a few hundred metres away, you don’t have far to walk back to the Guest House.
The Forum Darlington - A bar/club that specialises in live music, comedy shows, live music, known and unknown bands.
Inside out - One of our later night venues where you can find a variety of different music styles.
Darlington is proud of it's independent retailers. Please support responsible tourism and shop locally.
