Based in the heart of Darlington, The Old Tailor is a recently renovated old tailor’s workshop. As such, the building is a warren of stairs and rooms on different levels which still ooze an old world charm, with all the modern amenities you would expect from a Boutique Guest House.

The guest house is based on Bondgate, one of the main shopping streets in this historic town. There is easy access by rail, as you would expect from a town where the railways first began. The old tailor, once resident in this building, was awarded the contract to commission officers’ uniforms for train companies. You are free to relive the history in the shop below, by taking a sewing lesson with one of our expert tailors.

We have 3 large double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. We are very close to restaurants and bars in the town so there is no shortage of things to do.
