The Sewing Guest Room is a large guest house room, to the rear of the building, in Darlington town centre. It was originally set up for two machinists who put together the suits and shirts designed and cut out by the tailor. The room has a large vaulted ceiling, about 12 feet high, dropping to 6 foot at the windows. The high ceiling used to hold a mezzanine floor where the manager would conduct his affairs. During the renovation, we tried to keep as many features as possible; the mezzanine is now the en-suite to this room, offering a power shower, stylish tiling towel radiators and all the essential amenities. We have included a sun tube so the room is naturally lit during daylight hours, making us one of the most eco-friendly guesthouses in the area. In the main room we have increased the size of the window to allow for more natural light; this is accented with a velux window to allow for lots of light in to this lovely room.
